Seth L. Shortlidge - Managing Director
Mr. Shortlidge serves as the company’s chief executive and is responsible for managing Tamarack Energy’s day-to-day operations, strategic planning and relationships with investors. Prior to becoming Tamarack Energy’s managing director, Mr. Shortlidge served as Tamarack Energy’s chief legal officer and was responsible for structuring and negotiating Tamarack Energy’s commercial and financial transactions, oversight of corporate governance, and regulatory and government relations.
Mr. Shortlidge has extensive experience in the energy industry, representing a wide variety of energy clients in major commercial transactions, state and federal regulatory proceedings and in developing innovative business strategies to address the industry’s complex and rapidly changing regulatory and business environment. He has also represented regulated electric and gas companies, large energy consumers, electric cooperatives, and competitive electric suppliers in commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, asset divestitures, and environmental siting, permitting, compliance, and enforcement proceedings.
Prior to joining Tamarack Energy, Mr. Shortlidge was a partner with Pierce Atwood, LLP, where he was in charge of their Concord, New Hampshire office. Before joining Pierce Atwood, he was a Shareholder-Director at Gallagher, Callahan & Gartrell, PA in Concord, New Hampshire. Recognized as one of New Hampshire’s best lawyers by New Hampshire Magazine and by Best Lawyers in America.
Mark R. Mirabito, Project Developer
Mr. Mirabito is currently the project manager for the Watertown Renewable Power Project and is responsible for day-to-day development of the Watertown Project including permitting, engineering, interconnection, schedule/budget, and community outreach.
Mr. Mirabito is a project developer with more than 10 years of project management, process engineering, and procurement experience. He is responsible for driving the execution of Tamarack Energy’s development projects and the ongoing evaluation of new project opportunities and renewable energy technologies. His experience includes management of several utility-scale wind projects in New York; evaluation of a multi-technology community energy project in New Jersey; and preliminary development of a greenfield biodiesel production facility in New York.
Prior to joining Tamarack Energy, Mr. Mirabito worked for Merck & Co., Inc. While there, he led scope development, design, and start-up activities for complex pharmaceutical manufacturing projects in Virginia and Puerto Rico. Most recently, he was responsible for the strategic sourcing of Merck’s chemical and utility equipment purchases. For many of his years at Merck, Mr. Mirabito participated on the energy reduction initiative team, helping to achieve aggressive energy cost savings targets through conservation and efficiency improvements.
Clifford B. Orvedal, Project Developer
Mr. Orvedal is a project developer with a background in energy conservation and renewable energy. As a recent graduate of Dartmouth College he brings knowledge of a variety of renewable energy technologies gained through research with some of the nations leading experts and industry internships.
Mr. Orvedal currently coordinates development activities for Tamarack’s biomass power projects in Florida, North Carolina, and Massachusetts. In this role he works closely with consultants and senior staff to manage day-to-day permitting and preliminary engineering activities. Mr. Orvedal is also involved in Tamarack’s wood fuel supply efforts, from initial availability studies to the development of fuel supply plans.
Prior to joining Tamarack, Mr. Orvedal advanced renewable energy at Dartmouth College and across the country as co-founder of a student organization dedicated to the promotion of renewable energy and energy conservation. He also captained the Dartmouth Formula Racing Team, where he oversaw the development of both ethanol and hybrid-electric vehicles in an international student engineering competition.
